There's no place quite like Monmouth at Christmas, and I'm about to tell you why.

As you approach Monmouth, the historic Raglan Castle beckons with a promise of festive fun. Throw on your best Christmas jumper and soak up the spirit of the season. Here, eco-friendly decoration-making sessions blend the ancient with the modern, all while enjoying some seasonal refreshments. And for the little ones, or the young at heart, there’s a special visitor -yes, it's the man in the red suit himself! Christmas really starts at Raglan Castle.

The Abergavenny Christmas Market never fails to impress. Stalls brimming with unique gifts and mouth-watering food create a sensory delight. It's an ideal spot to find that perfect Christmas gift or indulge in some seasonal treats.

But when night descends, Monmouth's streets come alive with magic. The Monmouth Christmas Lantern Parade is a wonderful sight. Local residents, with lanterns, illuminate the streets in a mesmerising dance of lights, bringing a sense of community warmth to the cold winter nights.

For those who fancy a touch of the theatrical, the Blake Theatre this year hosts the 10th anniversary of 'West End at Christmas'. Bringing a touch of London's theatre district to Monmouth, stars from the West End serenade with festive tunes, creating an unforgettable evening.

While Monmouth is the hub, the surrounding towns and venues also join in the celebrations. The St. David's Hospice Care Christmas Fayre at Chepstow Racecourse is a delightful event, filled with festive stalls and activities.

Both the Old Station Tintern and Caldicot Castle have a Santa’s grotto, complete elves, and as you wait, why not enjoy festive, mulled wine, and mince pies?

Last but not least, the enchanting Tintern Abbey becomes even more magical with its annual Torchlight Carol Service. Picture this: a procession by torchlight leading you into the historic Abbey, followed by the harmonious voices of the Wyedean School Choir filling the night. It's a poignant reminder of the beauty and history that surrounds Monmouth during this festive season.

So with all this on the doorstep of Monmouth, what are you waiting for? You can be a regular part of this if you chose to live in this wonderful area that has something for everyone all year round.

The result is that we have an impressive level of success selling and renting a range of investment properties including single plots and development land, woodland, shops, warehouses, offices, and pubs.

Group Holiday Lettings

Big House Holiday Lets is an independent company co-owned and run from the offices of RRK by Lewis Scott. The company specialises in letting large houses for groups of up to 30 people for friends and family get-togethers, birthdays, or anniversaries. Services offered include “meet and greets”, check outs, cleaning, maintenance and laundry. We speak to our guests rather than booking online to ensure that the houses are respected and looked after.

Mortgages

Strategically funding your property purchase can be an important factor to consider when buying a property. As a buyer, having an agreement in principle in place before a viewing will stand you in better stead when negotiating with the vendor. We have connections to established mortgage brokers who can compare the market for you, offering third party advice on what product would be best for you depending on your personal circumstances.

Conveyancing

There are a number of factors that can influence the timescale involved in transferring ownership of a property from seller to buyer. We work closely with a number of local solicitors who provide a helpful and efficient service designed to be stress-free for our customers. Our recommended solicitors pro-actively work to best protect your interests and ensure legal title is transferred as quickly as possible. A member of our team would be happy to provide details of our recommended contacts.

Surveys

Once you’ve had an offer accepted on a property, you’ll be wondering whether you need a house survey and if so, which one. A property survey is optional and not always required, but it can help you avoid expensive and unwanted surprises, as well as giving you peace of mind. We work with several local, qualified and experienced surveyors who offer a range of different survey types to suit different needs – simply ask a member of our team for more details.
